Coastrait Ltd. is a Mauritian tour operator positioned at the premium end of the travel market – offering curated, experience-led tours designed for discerning visitors seeking something beyond the standard itinerary. The product was defined. The audience was clear. The ambition was serious.
When The Circle Communications was engaged, Coastrait Ltd, had no digital presence of any kind. No website, no online booking capability, no content, no search visibility. In a sector where the first point of contact between a tourist and a tour operator is almost universally digital, the absence of any online infrastructure represented a fundamental commercial gap.
The Challenge
More than a website. A complete digital architecture.
The brief extended beyond building a standard informational website. Coastrait needed a platform that served two distinct but connected functions – ecommerce-grade web presence that communicated brand authority and market positioning, and an integrated e-commerce layer that allowed visitors to browse, select, and book tours directly.
Designing a system that held both functions without compromising either required deliberate architectural thinking. Every structural and design decision was made with a defined strategic rationale – ensuring the platform served the brand as credibly as it served the transaction.
The platform had to work as a premium brand statement and a functional booking engine simultaneously – two objectives that demand different design logic, resolved through a single coherent system.
All content – copy, photography, and brand implementation across every digital touch point – needed to be produced from scratch, with nothing preexisting to build from.

The engagement began with a structured discovery phase – defining the audience, mapping the user journey, and establishing the information architecture before any design or development work commenced. The platform structure was planned to accommodate both the corporate presentation layer and the e-commerce booking layer within a single, coherent experience.
The existing brand identity was implemented in full across the digital environment – translating the visual system into a web context with precision, ensuring brand consistency from the homepage through to the booking flow.
All website copy was written from brief – reflecting the premium positioning of the brand and speaking directly to an audience of experience-driven travellers. Photography was sourced and produced to support the visual narrative of each tour offering, with original assets created specifically for the platform.
The platform was built for long-term operational independence – selected and configured so that the client team could manage day-to-day content and catalogue updates without ongoing technical dependency.
